Gotcha Bubble Fish Logo

The “Bubble Fish” Gotcha logo was designed by Shawn Stussy in the early days of Gotcha and was the brand’s first official logo. It was used on Gotcha hangtags and decals, and was reflective of the artistic style of the era: really angular and New-Wave-y, like the typeface on an album cover for an 80s punk or ska band. Gotcha had a penchant for moving fast and changing directions quickly and went through three different logos in its first five years, and the “Bubble Fish” was eventually retired in favor of the popular “Fishman” logo, which was an immediate sensation and quickly became a globally recognized icon.
